Homosexuality life in Tanzania..PT 1..

 Uganda: Ema and Simon
In Tanzania,we like to pride ourselves on our vigilance in preventing the introduction of western cultures and ideologies which would interfere with our traditions and beliefs. Our parents have had this pride forever and that's all they teach us,they hate the fact that we are still in kind of slavery although it was abolished physically and maybe not mentally..

As we are on the effort to try protecting our pride for us not to adopt the western culture its just then it drops with a tremendous fall that i call "Mentally Slavery Change",moreover others have just given up and each day i try to figure out who has preserved the culture as it should have and i get little number,i can proof to you how western culture can be manipulating.Massai is the only tribe in my country that is believed they are good at respecting and preserving their culture and yet nowadays i believe they are loosing ,some no longer want to wear their red drafted outfit "rubega".

We have adopted some difficult cultures with us,the ones that are banned..the ones that two men scratch each others back, kissing and have the kind of a relationship that is undefined,Really its happening ? i only used to see such actions in movies (at times) but i now visit some lounges and pubs and they are all you will notice first, the men in tight pants and high boots and others daring to show some feminine swag ,that's how flamboyant they can get..i also come across lesbians which in my research people have less problem with girls kissing or petting ,they have much problem when they see this actions come from men.

My ongoing research took me to Masai Club kinondoni this is where i had an appointment with a gay guy famously known as "Sasha" but his real name is Moses ,Moses (sasha) was so cautious due to gay guys were probably so wanted by the police and religious soldiers ,so i had to bribe the club's praetorian so that he can hook me up with sasha ,the bouncer made an appointment a day before since sasha schedule is quite tight...

As he was showing up flamboyantly i giggled,Sasha came knowing i was taking him/her/unknown for a ride, but instead i introduced myself and told her/him i was willing to interview him,Sasha fumed but later she calmed down when i said i wasn't with the police and i was ready to pay him.

Msongo:Why and when did you start being homo?

Sasha: I first started in a massage parlor ,i really loved how they massaged me and the guy who massaged my body introduced it to me,it started at the parlor and later  at his place.Don't ask why cause i won't answer that.

Msongo:Are you facing any troubles you being gay?

Sasha; you cant compare a gay living in Tanzania from one in the states, but also you cant compare the one in Uganda from Tanzanian's,despite they are hunting us but its more comfortable here than Uganda,we have support and we get clients...yes there troubles but i will say mild.

Msongo: Among your Clients which ones do you like the most?

Sasha; "Msongo nawe",i like "wazungu's" (foreigners) Italians and french people pay good cash,Tanzanians depends ,some are good and some are just con artists..

Msongo:what are your future plans?

Sasha:Msongo!! to live the country and go to the sates,am just waiting for luck since i already have a foreign guy..

Our conversation went on ,i realized there was one who was brutally punished and he was trying to explain to her/his friends ,i had to pay Sasha and go closer, the one punished was called "Janel"but his real name is Khalfan..i noticed their tendency of choosing fancy names.

Janel/Khalfan who started being homo since he was 13,his friends at school made him become gay,"they used to call me and finger me" this habit went on with Khalfan until one day the mom knew and later on the father chased him away from home..

Sasha said.....

"i don't like the fact gays in Tanzania are disrespected ,but in my own reasoning nobody should judge someone else, moreover  we are selling our bodies not yours, there is no need to brutally punish us,we have our rights and we are human just like you..i hope one day that Tanzanian Government understands us and give us our freedom and rights...
                                                                              wrath of sasha..

Answering (or trying to) the Religion Question in Tanzania

Tanzanian politicians are funny. On one hand they would tell religious leaders to stay out of politics when religious leaders speak ill of the government but on the other hand these same political leaders go to churches and mosque and give political speeches. Nobody said anything when members of the clergy called Kikwete "Chaguo la Mungu" but now that the tide has turned they are not to speak of politics?

Well the first paragraph aims at showing the hypocritical relationship between politics and religion but I really want to tackle a very controversial and sensitive issue in Tanzania. Why do some (if not) many Muslims feel that whenever there is a Muslim president they are attacked and conspiracies against them cooked up?

Well I am going to list a few examples I know of that some Muslims cite as proof of this. I can't tackle all but maybe these few examples will serve as a stepping stone to a greater (respectable) debate. I am mostly going to give examples regarding Jakaya Kikwete (JK).

Well I believe Muslims are more sensitive than Christians (not that it's a bad thing). They are very passionate about their religion. You want proof? If you drew an offensive picture of Prophet Mohammad today you are likely to get a stronger reaction that if you drew an offensive picture of Jesus Christ. That is why I believe our Muslim brothers and sisters react more strongly when they feel or a told that someone is being opposed because they are Muslim.

What can cause some Muslims to feel this way? I believe all this starts with the struggle for independence. No doubt that Nyerere is the face of the struggle for independence even though many came before him and many fought alongside him. Muslims have stated that it is Muslims who initiated the struggle and it is them that brought Nyerere to national prominence. They complain that history has forgotten these people and it is all Nyerere's fault.

Well if you look at the history of all nations, it is very few that a remembered for the founding of the nation. Look at America's history. There are only a few notable founding fathers while the rest are forgotten. My point here is that you can't control history. In America the founding fathers who are mostly remembered are the ones who later on became president. The rest are like George Mason are virtually forgotten. Nyerere is remembered not because he pumped himself but because he is the only of the independence fighters to hold the highest office in the country. If others had come to hold the office after him I'm sure they would be remembered too.

Another story I have heard is that Nyerere opposed JK in the CCM party primaries of 1995 and instead endorsed Mkapa. Now we all know what Mkapa came to do later on but that is not the issue. The issue here is did Nyerere oppose JK just because of religion? Considering the fact that he came to endorse a fellow Christian? Well in the same 1995 party primaries Nyerere called another fellow Christian by the name of Edward Lowassa a controversial figure and unfit for office. This to me is proof that Nyerere was really looking at the interest of the country and not a candidate's religion.

Some Muslims are now also citing the Church's criticism of JK and his government saying that they are only doing that because he is Muslim. Are they forgetting that it is the same Church leaders who endorsed JK and called him "Chaguo la Mungu" in 2005? Why would they now have a problem with his religion?

Another complaint of Muslims is that why is JK getting a bad wrap for things that were the fault of the previous administration lead by Mkapa (a Christian). Well Mkapa has been blamed and in fact spoken against in public. Many blame JK not for causing those problem but by failing to take any actions to hold accountable those responsible. JK had a great opportunity to make unprecedented history had he dealt with the fisadis which included both Christians and Muslims. The fact that ones a new government comes into power they carry all the good and the bad of the past administration. That is why today you will not here of the Obama administration blaming the Bush administration for the economy. Whether it was Bush's fault or not the economy is Obama's to fix. No American will buy the "Bush" excuse.

I think political leaders no how sensitive the religion issue is especially to our Muslim brothers and sisters and they use it to their advantage. That is why CUF was labelled a Muslim party and that is why Chadema is now strongly being labelled as a Christian party. They know that that sort of labeling works to our psyches.

Back then there were people who would oppose anything CUF would do or say because they thought there were are Muslim party and today there are people who will oppose Chadema no matter what because they feel it is a Christian party.

I hope that we one day realize that this is not the Muslim Republic of Tanzania nor the Christian Republic of Tanzania. We are the United Republic of Tanzania. Are we going to let religion divide us? I would never oppose any one simply because they are of a different religion of mine nor would I support any one simply because they are the same religion us mine. Fact is a bad health care system, a bad educational system, low salaries and high cost of living affects all of us regardless. So why do Tanzanians easily fall into the religion trap?

This is my opinion based on what I know so far. I am ready to defend my words but even apologize if I am to learn that I have made a clear mistake. It's all written in the spirit of learning from each other.

The 9 Types of Intelligence

1. Linguistic intelligence reflects the ability to read, write, tell stories, and learn languages, grammar, and syntax. Strengthen this ability by studying a new language, improving vocabulary, and writing.

2. Your friendly computer programmer has logical-mathematical intelligence. She’s comfortable with numbers, logic, reasoning, and abstractions. To increase logical ability, get a book of logic games, knit a sweater, and learn computer programming. Or watch a movie on video, and stop it to predict what will happen.

3. Those with strong musical intelligence are sensitive to sounds, tones, rhythms, pitch, musical keys, and structure of the songs (from verse and chorus to symphonies). Borrow different types of music CDs, sing with the radio, be quiet and listen to the sounds around you.

4. Those with strong spatial intelligence can imagine, understand, and represent the visual-spatial world. They may have a good sense of direction, hand-eye coordination, and visual memory. Some people, for instance, can visualize how furniture fits in a room without measurements, or buy a scarf that matches the blue in a blouse at home (perfect “chromatic pitch.”) To strengthen your spatial intelligence, be a backseat driver and provide directions for a trip, fit the groceries in the bag or the car, play with jigsaw puzzles and mazes, build some Lego’s, or sculpt some clay.

5. Remember Gene Kelly performing “Gotta Dance!” in Singing in the Rain? He had bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, as do athletes, builders, actors, or surgeons (if they have fine motor skills). Yoga is a great way to increase this ability. Make crafts or build, ride a bike, dance, and learn tai chi or other sports.

6. Someone with interpersonal intelligence is good at organizing people and is aware of moods and motivations. He or she can communicate and lead well. To get more people skills, practice active listening—that is, repeat back what you think someone said. Learn about the types of personalities with the Myers-Briggs test (psychological preferences such as extraversion and introversion) or the Enneagram (a theory of nine personality types—possibly centuries old).

7. Intrapersonal intelligence is the ability to be self-aware and explore emotions, goals and motivations. This perspective on the human condition is used by writers, philosophers, psychologists, and theologians. To improve your intrapersonal intelligence, “know thyself”—write in a journal, meditate, try the personality tests mentioned above.

8. Individuals with green thumbs and “horse whisperers” have naturalistic intelligence. They are sensitive to nature and may easily recognize and classify species. To get more naturalistic intelligence, expose yourself to the great outdoors: plant a seed, volunteer at an animal shelter, take a walk with a naturalist at the park, read about classifications of animals (kids’ books can be a great place to start).

9. Spiritual or existential intelligence fits all Dr. Gardner’s criteria except for association with a specific brain specialization—though this intelligence could be a whole-brain function. Those with this ability explore questions about life, death, and what lies beyond the subjective perspective. Prayer and meditation increase whole-brain communication and lessen the blood flow to the parietal lobes (which give a subjective sense of time and space). Explore what lies beyond through inquiry, reading, or talking with others.

The World's Billionaires

The ranks of the world's billionaires have yet again reached all-time highs, both in terms of the number of billionaires and record net worth. The United States still has more billionaires than any other country, but once again the world's richest person comes from outside its borders. Here are the top 3 billionaires of the world.

#1 Carlos Slim Helu & family

Carlos Slim Helu is the world's richest man for the fourth year in a row. He clocks in at $4 billion more than a year ago, thanks to surging stock prices at his financial arm, Grupo Financiero Inbursa, and at his Grupo Carso industrial and retail giant. Pan-Latin American mobile telecom outfit America Movil remains his most valuable holding at $36.3 billion; the company spread its wings to Europe in the past year, buying pieces of Dutch telecom company KPN and Telekom Austria. Other listed companies focus on mining, real estate and infrastructure. Slim does not hold an executive position at any of the companies he controls, but remains engaged and advises on strategy. He put his sons, Carlos, Marco Antonio and Patrick, in charge of the industrial, finance and telecom companies he controls. In September America Movil bought stakes in two Mexican professional soccer teams; in November Slim bought a majority of struggling Spanish soccer team Real Oviedo. Early 2013 saw a surge in Slim's philanthropic activity. The Carlos Slim Foundation pledged to translate into Spanish 1,000 videos from the Khan Academy education nonprofit website. Slim also hosted Bill Gates in late February; the two men announced they are funding research to improve farmers' yields and reduce hunger.

Most of his fortune these days is spread across private equity, bonds, and stocks like hygiene tech firm Ecolab, Mexican TV broadcaster Televisa, and Latin America's largest beverage company FEMSA. In February, Gates said the only thing left on his bucket list was, "Don't die."

He stepped down as chairman of Inditex, best known for its Zara brand, in 2011, but still owns nearly 60% of its shares, which soared 50% year-over-year on record profits. Ortega also has a real estate portfolio, much of it acquired at bargain prices during the financial downturn, estimated to be worth more than $4 billion. Among his properties: the iconic Torre Picasso, a 43-story skyscraper in Madrid (Google is a tenant), which he purchased from billionaire Esther Koplowitz in 2011. He also owns buildings in Madrid, London, Chicago, San Francisco and New York. A railway worker's son, he started as a gofer in a shirt store. With then-wife Rosalia Mera, also a billionaire, he started making dressing gowns and lingerie in their living room. In December 2012, Spanish media reported that Ortega paid half a million dollars to prevent paparazzi from publishing photos of his daughter Marta and her equestrian husband Sergio Alvarez on their honeymoon in Cambodia and Australia. Marta, who works for Inditex, is reportedly expecting a baby boy.

Most Powerful Intelligence Agencies In The World

Intelligence Agency is an effective instrument of a national power. Aggressive intelligence is its primary weapon to destabilize the target. Indeed, no one knows what the intelligence agencies actually do so figuring out who the best intelligence service is can be difficult. The very nature of intelligence often means that the successes will not be public knowledge for years, whereas failures or controversial operations will be taken to the press. It’s a thankless situation. Still, from what little has emerged, one can have an idea of some of the better intelligence services out there, with the understanding that this is based on incomplete data.

10. ASIS – Australia

australian-ASIS

Formed 13 May 1952
Headquarters Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia
Annual budget $162.5m AUD (2007)
Minister responsible The Hon. Stephen Smith MP, Minister for Foreign Affairs
Agency executive Nick Warner, Director-General
Australian Secret Intelligence Service is the Australian government intelligence agency responsible for collecting foreign intelligence, undertaking counter-intelligence activities and cooperation with other intelligence agencies overseas. For more than twenty years, the existence of the agency was a secret even from its own government. Its primary responsibility is gathering intelligence from mainly Asian and Pacific interests using agents stationed in a wide variety of areas. Its main purpose, as with most agencies, is to protect the country’s political and economic interests while ensuring safety for the people of Australia against national threats.

9. RAW – India

indian-raw
Formed 21 September 1968
Headquarters New Delhi, India
Agency executive K. C. Verma, Secretary (R)
Parent agency Prime Minister’s Office, GoI
Research and Analysis Wing is India’s external intelligence agency. It was formed in September 1968, after the newly independent Republic of India was faced with 2 consecutive wars, the Sino-Indian war of 1962 and the India-Pakistani war of 1965, as it was evident that a credible intelligence gathering setup was lacking. Its primary function is collection of external intelligence, counter-terrorism and covert operations. In addition, it is responsible for obtaining and analyzing information about foreign governments, corporations, and persons, in order to advise Indian foreign policymakers. Until the creation of R&AW, the Intelligence Bureau handled both internal and external intelligence.

8. DGSE – France

Directorate General for External Security is France’s external intelligence agency. Operating under the direction of the French ministry of defence, the agency works alongside the DCRI (the Central Directorate of Interior Intelligence) in providing intelligence and national security, notably by performing paramilitary and counterintelligence operations abroad. The General Directorate for External Security (DGSE) of France has a rather short history compared to other intelligence agencies in the region. It was officially founded in 1982 from a multitude of prior intelligence agencies in the country. Its primary focus is to gather intelligence from foreign sources to assist in military and strategic decisions for the country. The agency employs more than five thousand people.

7. FSB – Russia

russia fsb
Formed 3 April, 1995
Employees 350,000
Headquarters Lubyanka Square
Preceding agency KGB
The Federal Security Service of Russian Federation (FSD) is the main domestic security agency of the Russian Federation and the main successor agency of the Soviet-era Cheka, NKVD and KGB. The FSB is involved in counter-intelligence, internal and border security, counter-terrorism, and surveillance. Its headquarters are on Lubyanka Square, downtown Moscow, the same location as the former headquarters of the KGB. All law enforcement and intelligence agencies in Russia work under the guidance of FSB, if needed. For example, the GRU, spetsnaz and Internal Troops detachments of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs work together with the FSB in Chechnya. The FSB is responsible for internal security of the Russian state, counterespionage, and the fight against organized crime, terrorism, and drug smuggling. The number of FSB personnel and its budget remain state secrets, although the budget was reported to jump nearly 40% in 2006.

6. BND – Germany

Formed 1 April 1956
Employees 6,050
Agency executive Gehlen Organization
Parent agency Central Intelligence Group
The Bundesnachrichtendienst is the foreign intelligence agency of the German government, under the control of the Chancellor’s Office. The BND acts as an early warning system to alert the German government to threats to German interests from abroad. It depends heavily on wiretapping and electronic surveillance of international communications. It collects and evaluates information on a variety of areas such as international terrorism, WMD proliferation and illegal transfer of technology, organized crime, weapons and drug trafficking, money laundering, illegal migration and information warfare. As Germany’s only overseas intelligence service, the BND gathers both military and civil intelligence.

5. MSS – China

chinese-MSS
Jurisdiction People’s Republic of China
Headquarters Beijing
Agency executive Geng Huichang, Minister of State Security
Parent agency State Council
Ministry of State Security is the security agency of the People’s Republic of China. It is also probably the Chinese government’s largest and most active foreign intelligence agency, though it is also involved in domestic security matters. Article 4 of the Criminal Procedure Law gives the MSS the same authority to arrest or detain people as regular police for crimes involving state security with identical supervision by the procuratorates and the courts. It is headquartered near the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China in Beijing. According to Liu Fuzhi, Secretary-General of the Commission for Politics and Law under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Public Security, the mission of the MSS is to ensure “the security of the state through effective measures against enemy agents, spies, and counter-revolutionary activities designed to sabotage or overthrow China’s socialist system.”  One of the primary missions of the MSS is undoubtedly to gather foreign intelligence from targets in various countries overseas. Many MSS agents are said to have operated in the Greater China region (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) and to have integrated themselves into the world’s numerous overseas Chinese communities. At one point, nearly 120 agents who had been operating under non-official cover in the U.S., Canada, Western and Northern Europe, and Japan as businessmen, bankers, scholars, and journalists were recalled to China, a fact that demonstrates the broad geographical scope of MSS agent coverage.

4.ISI – Pakistan

Pakistan ISI
Formed 1948
Jurisdiction Government of Pakistan
Headquarters Islamabad, Pakistan
Agency executive Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha, PA Director General
With the lengthiest track record of success, the best know Intelligence so far on the scale of records is ISI. The Inter-Services Intelligence was created as an independent unit in 1948 in order to strengthen the performance of Pakistan’s Military Intelligence during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. Its success in achieving its goal without leading to a full scale invasion of Pakistan by the Soviets is a feat unmatched by any other through out the intelligence world. KGB, The best of its time, failed to counter ISI and protect Soviet interests in Central Asia. This GOLD MEDAL makes it rank higher than Mossad. It has had 0 double agents or Defectors through out its history, considering that in light of the whole war campaign it carried out from money earned by selling drugs bought from the very people it was bleeding, The Soviets. It has protected its Nuclear Weapons since formed and it has foiled Indian attempts to attain ultimate supremacy in the South-Asian theatres through internal destabilization of India. It is above All laws in its host country Pakistan ‘A State, with in a State’. Its policies are made ‘outside’ of all other institutions with the exception of The Army. Its personnel have never been caught on camera. Its is believed to have the highest number of agents worldwide, close to 10,000. The most striking thing is that its one of the least funded Intelligence agency out of the top 10 and still the strongest.

3. M1-6 – United Kingdom

uk-flag
Formed 1909 as the Secret Service Bureau
Jurisdiction Government of the United Kingdom
Headquarters Vauxhall Cross, London
Minister responsible The Rt Hon. William Hague MP, Foreign Secretary
Agency executive Sir John Sawers KCMG, Director General
Parent agency Foreign and Commonwealth Office
The British have had a long public perception of an effective intelligence agency (due to the success of the unrealistic, yet entertaining, James Bond movies). This perception matches reality. MI6, the British equivalent to the CIA, has had two big advantages in staying effective: The British Official Secrets Act and D notices can often prevent leaks (which have been the bane of the CIA’s existence). Some stories have emerged. In the Cold War, MI6 recruited Oleg Penkovsky, who played a key part in the favorable resolution of the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Oleg Gordievski, who operated for a decade before MI6 extracted him via Finland. The British were even aware of Norwood’s activities, but made the decision not to tip their hand. MI6 also is rumored to have sabotaged the Tu-144 supersonic airliner program by altering documents and making sure they fell into the hands of the KGB.

2. Mossad – Israel

Formed December 13, 1949 as the Central Institute for Coordination
Employees 1,200 (est)
Agency executive Meir Dagan, Director
Parent agency Office of the Prime Minister
The Mossad is responsible for intelligence collection and covert operations including paramilitary activities. It is one of the main entities in the Israeli Intelligence Community, along with Aman (military intelligence) and Shin Bet (internal security), but its director reports directly to the Prime Minister. The list of its successes is long. Israel’s intelligence agency is most famous for having taken out a number of PLO operatives in retaliation for the attack that killed eleven Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympic games in Munich. However, this agency has other success to its name, including the acquisition of a MiG-21 prior to the Six-Day war of 1967 and the theft of the plans for the Mirage 5 after the deal with France went sour. Mossad also assisted the United States in supporting Solidarity in Poland during the 1980s.

1. CIA – America

american-cia
Formed September 18, 1947
Employees 20,000
Agency executive John Brennan, Director
Parent agency Central Intelligence Group
CIA is the largest of the intelligence agencies and is responsible for gathering data from other countries that could impact U.S. policy. It is a civilian intelligence agency of the United States government responsible for providing national security intelligence to senior United States policymakers. The CIA also engages in covert activities at the request of the President of the United States of America. The CIA’s primary function is to collect information about foreign governments, corporations, and individuals, and to advise public policymakers. The agency conducts covert operations and paramilitary actions, and exerts foreign political influence through its Special Activities Division. It has failed to control terrorism activities including 9/11, Not even a single top level Al-Queda leader captured own its own in the past 9 years – ‘they missed 1 Million’ Soviet troops marching into Afghanistan’. Iraq’s Weapons of Mass Destruction, Have the found them yet? -Number of defectors/ double agents numbers close to a thousand. On 50th anniversary of CIA, President Clinton said ”By necessity, the American people will never know the full story of your courage. Indeed, no one knows that what CIA really does”. Highly funded and technologically most advanced Intelligence set-up in the world.

The Highly Controversial 'Shackles of Doom"

The controversial play Shackles of Doom by Butere Girls High School will finally be performed on Sunday at the Kenya National Schools and Colleges Drama Festival in Mombasa.

The play is produced by Dora Okaalo and directed by Nicholas Lusuli and Marvin Oman. The plot revolves around the greed for oil wealth and how one community gets into a binding deal with the inhabitants of an oil-rich land, but affairs of the heart and blackmail trigger a conflict between the two communities.

The play was judged to be tribal after drama officials found the contents of the drama offensive because of the play’s use of Kikuyu names to represent its exploitative characters.

SYNOPSIS

Shackles of doom is a play about a community in search of black gold in a foreign land but later on cases of nepotism and tribalism ignites a conflict.

Shackles of Doom is a play that depicts the production of a film in Kanas, an impoverished country with large oil reserves that are yet to be exploited. The people of Kanas refer to themselves as the True Kanas and they languish in poverty unaware of the riches that flow in the ground beneath their feet.

Lopush who is a True Kana is in search of a bride and his prayers are answered when a delegation from a neighboring country arrives in Kana and offers him a beautiful lady, Wamaitha, to be his wife. The delegation asks for the True Kana’s land as bride price and promises to build them an oil refinery to foster the relationship between the two countries. What Lopush does not know is that his bride is 3 weeks pregnant and Kimani, who claims to be her guardian, is the father.

The oil refinery is constructed and during the hiring process, none of the the True Kanas clinch administrative positions. Kimani is appointed the CEO of the refinery and the highest ranked True Kana in the refinery is a security guard.

On the eve of Lopush and Wamaitha’s wedding, Kimani has an order of 600 barrels of oil and orders all the factory employees to work the day and night shifts to fulfill the order. Lopush is not spared either and is forced to work as the security guard.

The employees are hard at work when Kimani sneaks away to Lopush’s house and tries to talk Wamaitha into having sex with him before she is married off and an argument ensues between the two.
Lopush defies Kimani’s orders and leaves the refinery before dawn to prepare for his wedding and walks in on Kimani and Wamaitha.

Wamaitha is at pains to prove that she did not fornicate with Kimani. A crowd gathers and just as they were about to descend on Kimani, news of a fire at the oil refinery reaches them. Lopush had left with the keys to the installation and he is needed to aid in the evacuation process. The villagers rush to scene of the accident only to find that the whole refinery and its occupants had burned to the ground. A “technical glitch” is blamed for the horrific accident.

“CUT” yells the film director, signifying the end of the shooting. A cast member points out that the film has no credible resolution. Her suggestion is an ending where all communities at peace, there is harmony, truth, justice and equitable distribution of resources. The cameras are still rolling as the cast member makes her plea but in full glare of the camera the director declares his resolution was credible!

When Ernesto "Che" Guevara Came In Dar Es Salaam

Ernesto "Che" Guevara was in Dar es Salaam for about five months from October 1965 - February 1966, besides the time he spent in the western part of the country during his Congo mission. And it was when he was in Dar es Salaam that he wrote his famous book, the Congo Diaries, while staying at the Cuban embassy during those critical months...

Although the Tanzanian government knew about the passage of the Cuban internationalists through its territory and offered them logistic help and protection until they left for the battle field, news about Che's presence stayed within the closed ranks of the Cuban command. Everything was kept in great secrecy.

Speculation on Guevara's whereabouts continued throughout 1966 and into 1967. Representatives of the Mozambican independence movement FRELIMO reported meeting with Guevara in late 1966 or early 1967 in Dar es Salaam, at which point they rejected his offer of aid in their revolutionary project.

One of the most common eating spots he used to frequent  is the New Zahir's Restaurant in Mosque Street at Kisutu. Where Che could be seen enjoying a cup of tea and chappatis. A keen admirer of Swahili language, Che chose the name Tatu (swahili word for three) as his code name

Some historians have even gone Further to suggest that Che Guevara played a major role in the Zanzibar revolution, Saying it was not documented due to its high level of secrecy..

Revolutionaries, however, can. Whether they fail or succeed, genuine revolutionaries often win the hearts of the world's romantic and idealistic, especially the young, who admire in them their passionate rejection of an unjust economic and social order which they insist causes so much hopelessness and needless death.

Ernesto"Che" Guevara, "probably the most genuine revolutionary leader," as even Henry Kissinger admitted in his memoirs, inspired such admiration--admiration that can be seen still in the banners and T-shirts worn by a younger generation seeking to protest "globalization."

Getting Results In Your Exams

Dedicating yourself to the best

When Form Six results came out, I was privileged to access results for one of the best schools in the country. Someone who goes to the same school looked at the list and there was a certain lady I will call Lady Brains who had scored 3 points –maximum points in Form Six.

While being briefed, this is what I was told about her, “I am not surprised. That girl used to read like crazy. She would sleep at 2am and wake up by 4am. Even while having lunch, she would be revising. She was so passionate about reading that she would not have time to wash her clothes. We would just help her to wash. Of course she was bright too but she worked so hard for her results. She deserved it.”

“By the way”, she went on, “on this list there are a group of boys who also passed very highly. They had a clique of very serious students. They would almost never leave the library. There are moments when they would sleep there. I hear they would take turns to sleep on the desks. Of course school policy does not allow this but the authorities tried to chase them away in vain.”

Dedicating yourself to the best
Now, just to be clear, I’m not advocating for taking extreme measures like those in an effort to pass exams. Because I believe that with smart time management and revision techniques, you can still pass highly. However, the principal of dedication is a big lesson here.

I reflected and noted that this incredible team of boys and Lady Brains knew the other principle of sowing and reaping. They invested a lot of time in their books. In the end, they harvested a lot in terms of results. Had they invested inadequate time for revision, they would have harvested inadequate results. It is a law in life. If you sow stones, you will remain with stones. If you sow seeds, you will get some fruits.

We all admire beautiful harvests but few people are willing to invest time and effort upfront. Be different. Plant healthy seeds in your field or industry and life will respond in equal measure. It is called life. Happy planting season.

Is This Relationship Worth It?

He is cute. Actually no. He is handsome! You were shocked when he took you out on a date, even more surprised when he asked that you be his girlfriend. You keep wondering how lucky you can be. Here is one admired young man that many other women were hoping would date them. But he chose you! You now know exactly what the saying “butterflies in the stomach” means. Wow. Except for the bottle. Yes, it is the one thing that bothers you.

His other side

When the weekend comes around, you are excited you will be spending more time with him. But you are also worried about what he will do after he has had his fill of beer, whiskey, gin and anything alcoholic in his path. You worry because when he takes liquor, he changes. Suddenly he is not so sweet. In fact, he is mean. He embarrasses you in front of your friends. He calls you bad names, even uses swear words at you.

Many times, you have felt like leaving him at the drinking joint, because you are tired of having to stop the fights with friends, of cleaning the mess in the car. But you don’t. You stay on. Many weekends end up being wasted this way. When you go back home, you wonder if you should continue in this relationship. No amount of talking, begging or crying has made him change his ways or consider it.

On Monday morning, you can hardly concentrate on your work because you are thinking about the horrible weekend. Then he sends you a text message: “Sorry about last night. I am lucky to have a wonderful woman like you. Will make up for it with dinner tonight.” You smile. How sweet. You begin to plan what you will wear, but the niggling thought at the back of your mind about his alcohol problem doesn’t leave. It keeps pounding away, like the strength of your heartbeat.

But you are not alone. Your best friend dates another cute and rather successful young man. You are all good friends. In fact the four of you do double dates a lot of the time. You even call yourselves the Fantastic Four and post really sweet photos of those dates on Facebook, all the time.

Your friend has been living with her boyfriend for four years now. You are all sure that her boyfriend loves her. He shows it in so many ways. But the three of you also know for a fact, that she is not the only woman sleeping in his bed. The signs are there. A time or two, he has been caught red-handed. Like you, she has cried, begged and pleaded. Once she even left him. But those sweet messages, those gifts… it was hard to keep away. So she went back.

And the four of you keep hanging out every other weekend. On girls’ nights out, you and your friend meet to catch up without the noisiness of the boys. You talk about the drinking, sadness all over your face. She talks about the cheating, tears welling up in her eyes. But you console yourselves saying “men are like that”.

Comfort in other people’s misery

You gossip about Lisa, whose man is so stingy, he can’t even give her money when their daughter falls sick. Then there is Meagan whose man hits her, Poppy, whose fiancé did not show up for his own introduction ceremony two years ago, Sicily who is dating a married man. You laugh then talk about work, money and when you hope to get children. You finally bid each other goodnight with warm hugs and go back to your homes.

You get to your house feeling good after having a wonderful night out. You bathe, read a magazine, say a short prayer and try to go to sleep but the niggling thought sneaks its way right to the “front of your mind”. That night you, your friend, and Lisa, and Meagan, and Poppy in your separate homes and beds wonder if that relationship is worth it. It’s a good question to ask, isn’t it?

Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao
Hi-res-146091709_display_image

Manny Pacquiao grew up in the slums of the Philippines, a true underdog story if ever, there was one. One of five other siblings, poverty was the norm for his family. Like Jack Johnson, Manny also moved away from his home at an early age.

He was only 14 when he moved to Manila, for a while living on the streets until he began boxing. Before turning 16, Manny would have an amateur record of 64 wins and 4 losses. By the time he began training for his bout with Antonio Barrera, Freddie Roach was already on the job molding Manny, who would go on to become the pound-for-pound champion of the world.

Manny stunned boxing fans handing Barrera a technical knockout in the 11th round, something no one had ever done. Present day, Manny has accomplished what no other fighter in the history of the sport has, eight belts in eight separate divisions.

And as of 2010, he’s also a congressman in district of Sarangani, in the Philippines. Apart from these accomplishments, Manny has does things in the ring I’ve never seen anyone else in the sport even attempt much less put into action, circling left or right throwing combinations of up to four even seven punches with one step. Not bad for a kid from the slums, huh?

Second Hand Clothes in Tanzania (mitumba)

Several African countries, including South Africa and Nigeria, have banned imports of previously owned garments to protect national industries.
"mia nane...mia nane..mia tano...mia tano" the bellow came from a mid aged guy who was entirely wet from his sweat ,caring less and trying to market his stuff, anyone could easily see him since he was standing on a metallic table his legs were covered with colorful stacks of unsorted clothes,he then lifts a long sleeved gray t-shirt and in seconds is on a jeans waving it and giving it a price..

That's how good it can get at Karume market, one thing i like about mitumba is i can own a designers cloths at a very cheaper price.Mitumba are classified in classes you can have the best quality from mtumba and yet you can get a very poor quality.

As i move to other wooden stalls ,i see a big women i think she was on her 60's and obesity was all one could say of her body ,i could tell the age because i saw her Kilimanjaro grey hair style,"beba beba...mia tano...beba beba mia tano" i could see her dancing while she calls upon customers, her bald voice made me think she hadn't had water for sometime..

A big percent of Tanzanians buy the second hand clothes, the clothes are imported from abroad especially the Asian countries. Its said about 90 % of people living in Tanzania buy second hand clothes ,actually people prefer them more.

Effects
As much as we like mitumba ,they have severe effects to our home country economy. My grandad used to give me stories about the industry he worked for when he was a young man ,people who worked at textiles back then were so treasured in Tanzania and part of our good economy was much contributed by the textiles industries, each day workers decrease ,my grandad says back then there were about 80,000 Tanzanians working in textile companies but it has now dropped to almost non.
Lack of employment being one of the effects, many textile industries are now shut down due to Mitumba.

"lakini" why lie the second hand clothes have also helped in some sort of way,My friend Gilbert kituli says proudly he can now wear a second hand Louis V t-shirt just like lil wayne.

Flashed my eyes to the left saw a group of ladies trying to bargain and hustle for the braziers and panties while the vendor blithely singing "Pata wee..makufuli...solex za kila rangi..pata weee bwatuli..sidiria zakila rangi"
Second-hand clothing is a big business in open-air markets across many African countries.

Please Berlin...We Want Our Dinosaur

Brachiosaurus brancai in the exhibition "The World of Dinosaurs"

Discovered by a German engineer, Brachiosaurus is considered one of the largest dinosaurs to have ever walked the earth, were found in the early 1900s in Tendaguru, a former German colony, in what is now Tanzania. The Dinosaur is currently displayed at the Natural Science Museum In Berlin, earning Germany a substantial amount in revenues, collected from its display.

Our government should speed up its progress in trying to attain what is rightfully ours, that's if the progress is there. Imagine the revenues we can also acquire from displaying this gift of nature. It will also portray how significant our land really is. This particular Brachiosaurus is actually a composite of at least 5 individuals found at the Tendaguru site.  In total, the German expeditions between 1909 and 1912 brought back the remains of 34 Brachiosaurs, as well as fossils of other spectacular late Jurassic dinosaurs.

However, the big question is whether weather are ready to bear the cost of preserving such relics given the expensive means of preserving in terms of maintaining their natural state and providing security so that they do not end up in the wrong hands. I bet, our ministers would be the first ones to sell such relics in black market! If all the gold and silver and tanzanite have been sold, what will stop them from selling such valuable items?

Bye Bye Loliondo.....

“Dear Guest, Welcome to the UAE. Enjoy the best network coverage and other unmatched services only with Etisalat. Please use<+> or <00>before the country code for international calls. The above network text message leaves allot to be desired. One wonders whether Ortello Business Corporation is a private company or is a sovereign state within Tanzania. The question of the relationship between the Corporation and the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) did not stop lingering in the heads of members of the investigation team.

In 1992 Otterlo Business Corporation Ltd - that’s not a “corporation” but an organization managing hunting trips for royalty from the United Arab Emirates – was given the Loliondo Game Controlled Area - the whole of Loliondo Division - as a hunting block and since then their lease keeps being renewed by the Government – not the Maasai landowners.

The core hunting area of OBC is the corridor of land bordering the National Park, but in theory they could hunt rats around the District Commissioners office. OBC do not have any land, but only what’s basically a hunting license. Nevertheless, OBC seem to think that they operate in some half protected area where they control the land while having to put up with customary landowners that they shower in charitable projects.

When conflict flare up they get the support of the government. For the 2009 hunting season OBC together with Tanzanian authorities evicted people from the corridor that’s almost half the size of the Emirate of Dubai. In this operation at least 150 bomas were burnt to the ground, including grain stores and even some young livestock that were burnt to death. Some 60,000 heads of cattle were pushed into an extreme drought area and calves were left behind in the stampede. This significantly worsened the alarming rates of cattle deaths of the severe drought at the time. Many cases of beatings, humiliations and sexual assault have been reported. Several children were lost in the chaos and terror and one of them – 7-year-old Nashipai Gume from Arash – has not been found. The evicted people eventually moved back and many leaders “reconciled” with OBC.

In November 2012 a crisis broke out when people in Ololosokwan found that Tanzania National Parks were planning to erect Serengeti NP border beacons on the land of the village. There were major demonstrations and the beacons were dropped back inside the National Park.

On 27th January 2013 the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism held “stakeholders’” meetings in Loliondo. He did not seem to grasp the issues and his only concrete idea was for “investors” to work together forming an association.

Currently there are many players in the tourism industry in Loliondo and none of them can be trusted, though occasionally some of them play by the rules entering proper contracts with the villages. The most destructive force among them is the Boston-based Thomson Safaris claiming 12,617 acres of grazing land as their own “Enashiva Nature Refuge” and harassing the pastoralists as “trespassers” while involved in an aggressive propaganda campaign for their “community-based project”.

The last weekend of February the Minister returned to Loliondo with the message that the Game Controlled Area as per Wildlife Conservation Act of 2009 was the best “solution” for Loliondo.

To media the Minister was saying that the Maasai are “landless” and being “given” the land that they already have – except the corridor – under the condition that they form a Wildlife Management Area that’s presented as a way for communities to “benefit from wildlife” while in reality it’s a recipe to increase central government control. The move was described as “addressing historical injustices”. A historical injustice is actually what the Government seems determined to commit.

China Style..How To Make Fake Eggs

In China there are fake schools and classes that teach a variety of blatant fraud technology, even eggs can be modulated by chemical materials, but also be able to fry cook, is currently the most popular False course.

Step 1 modulation of raw materials

Using 7 kinds of chemical materials, see pic below
Fake egg was made from calcium carbonate, starch, resin, gelatin, alum and other chemical products.
Step 2 egg production
Raw egg into the mold to 2 / 3 full, put calcium chloride, colouring die, the egg appears on the film been announced.

The 'yolk' is shaped in the round mould. 'Magic water' containing calcium chloride is used.

By adding a yellow pigment and become raw egg yolk..

Step 3 fake egg shape
In the mold into 1 / 3 raw egg white, like the first package, like dumplings into the egg yolk, egg white into another, into the magic water, a shell eggs will come slowly. Naked egg shape to 1 hour to dry after washing with water, at shells ready.
Step 4
Sewing lines through the use of eggs, immersed in paraffin wax, calcium carbonate, such as modulation of the eggshell into a solution, repeated several times until the shell a little dry, immersion in cold water pumping line shape, this point, the egg has been put on a false cloak , You're done.

Hard shells are formed by soaking in paraffin wax onto the egg, which are then left to dry.

Oh yeah The Egg is ready. The artificial egg shell is very fragile and break easily but who cares!!

Look so real

Many small bubbles is formed during frying the egg but not many people can tell the difference.

The egg look exactly the same, and the eggs taste better than real but you are adding to the

statistic of food poisoning person.

Why make fake eggs ?

Because of money.
The cost of fake egg is only 0.55 Yuan/kg, while the true [WINDOWS-1252? ]eggs’ market price is 5.6 Yuan/kg.

Cases of problem foods and food poisoning are widely reported in Mainland China over the last few years.. In 2001, there were 185 cases of food poisoning, affecting about 15,715 people and causing 146 deaths. The cases doubled in 2002. In 2003, the number of reported cases was ten times more than that in 2001, and the number of people suffered was as high as 29,660, including 262 deaths Now In Sept 2008 Nearly 53,000 Chinese children sick from contaminated milk; 4 have died

Dar-es-Salaam..Once A Home To Revolutionaries

From the earliest days of Independence in 1961, Tanganyika under the Tanganyika African National Union, Tanu, served as a base for various liberation movements fighting against colonialism and settler-colonialism, particularly in Southern Africa.

Tanzania became a reliable rear base for Namibia’s South West African People’s Organisation (Swapo) and the Front for the Liberation of Mozambique (Frelimo) as well South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC), the Zimbabwe African National Union (Zanu), the Zimbabwe African People’s Union (Zapu) and the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA).

Many of these wanderers, fired by the utopian promise of the late President Julius Nyerere’s Ujamaa philosophy, flocked to the coastal capital, revelling in an atmosphere that not only fuelled their idealism but also served as a hothouse to incubate ideologies and movements they believed would change the world.

The Organisation of African Unity Liberation Committee – earlier based in Accra, Ghana – moved its headquarters to Dar-es-Salaam, from where it supplied training, material aid and organisational support to the mass organisations and independence movements in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia and other African colonies still struggling for Independence.

Hence, apart from the intellectuals from different parts of the world who flocked to Dar during its golden era as a centre of revolutionary discourse, numerous freedom fighters from different parts of Africa also found succor there.

Having operated from Tanzania for many years, people like current Namibian president Hifikepunye Pohamba and his predecessor Dr Sam Nujoma retain fond memories of their years there. Their sojourns in the country are said to be a treasured part of the folklore of places such as Mtwara, Morogoro, Dodoma and Mbeya.

The late President Nyerere’s leadership had made it clear that freedom for the country was meaningless as long as other African countries remained under colonial rule. It therefore welcomed African freedom fighters with open hands, including some who would eventually perish in the course of the struggle.

Among them was Eduardo Mondlane, the former Frelimo president who was assassinated in 1969 by a parcel bomb sent to him at the Frelimo headquarters in Dar es Salaam. The same method would years later be used to assassinate the white South African anti-apartheid campaigner Ruth First.

Movie Review; Olympus Has Fallen

If I was a critic I would have written this movie off. Saying that its just one of those movies with the same old plot with a bit modification. This is true, but as an audience I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

The best thing about this movie is its pace. You won't know how fast the 110 minutes go. There's not a minute you will feel bored. The attack sequences are bit over the top, but if you are a drama lover, you won't be disappointed. The storyline isn't much to think about but the screenplay is apt. Its a good thing that the director Antonie Fuqua keeps things simple, doesn't dig too much into the conspiracy stuff and also doesn't include any unnecessary twists.

Olympus Has Fallen is probably one of my favorite political thrillers of all time. The suspense, action, disaster sequences, likable characters, etc. makes for a solid film with little going wrong in it. A few "why did they do that" moments, with some tighter plot lines could've done the trick to make this better, but other than that, it hits the mark on all levels.

This movie took me back to Bruce Willis' "Die Hard". This movie had all of the Die hard characteristics we all know and love, and in my opinion, was better than the newest installment to the series! Unlike that film, this movie had tight spaces, a lone ranger in a hostage situation, and even went lengths to feature one of the villains pretending to be a good guy, and is offered cigarettes, just like in Die Hard.

Gerard Butler puts on a solid performance, and leaves me wanting more. A bunch of witty one liners are packed into a superb script by Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt. My favorite line: "Here's a game we can play. It's called "Go F**k Yourself". You go first." A couple of funny moments and much drama and action make this an excellent thriller. And, to top it off, this movie has Morgan Freeman. Plus!

Olympus Has Fallen is not going to be any memorable, but it pleasures for those who wants to see some nerve shattering explosions and genuinely exciting action. It's not a classic nor smart but it really knows how to have fun. This film may also payback for the ones who were frustrated by A Good Day To Die Hard. Olympus Has Fallen is almost just a typical afternoon entertainment if it weren't for its solid craft and entertainment quality, but if you are looking for something intellectual and realistic then you will be in trouble.

In final word,if you love Action films,I highly suggest you see Olympus Has Fallen,an entertaining, old fashioned Action film that is well worth your time. Highly Recommended. 7.5/10.

Smoking The Malawi Gold

Malawi Gold is the name given to cannabis originating in Malawi, a country in southeast Africa. In the chichewa language, it is locally known as chamba.[Chamba is grown mainly in central and northern regions like Mzuzu. It is internationally renowned as one of the finest sativas from Africa. Malawi Gold is also known as one of the most potent psychoactive pure African sativas. The popularity of this strain has led to such a profound increase in marijuana tourism and economic profit in Malawi that Malawi Gold is listed as one of the three 'Big C's' in Malawian exports 'Chambo' (Tilapia fish), Chombe (tea) and Chamba (Malawi Gold)'.

Malawi Gold has reached notoriety as the gold standard in Marijuana. Malawi Gold is a top grade Marijuana and is setting the gold standard internationally, in quality Marijuana.

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGsd2Hwywy1q01nHlLyYu_UNZ7vbzgPTdSeCPV1AO-227uEPNEPE8xq28DDHrWJkyA6PoBUTKEXlnimTpysPGiQEzHkNsFUmmuI3nJSz3YVp9smhDzS4ZCqsX5XEEeYc9t2uLw8K34bjc/s1600/barack_obama_smoking_weed.jpg

I had the good fortune, sitting in a swimming pool in a camp ground, to meet a fellow friend in Malawi in 2012 who rolled me a joint of malawi gold to take away. He warned me not to smoke it all at once.

I was 18, and far from a chronic smoker. The next night I lit it with an ember from the camp fire...and smoked most of it..but lost track of the roach when the hallucinations kicked in.

I was sitting on a log in front of the fire. I fell backwards off the log. It took me 5 minutes to hit the ground. Each infinitesimal section of the journey earthwards was akin to a strobe light lit moment in time. Each section of the journey earthwards was a self contained experience.

After my brain processed the "holy fuck - here we go..." moment, flat on my back, I recall touching my tent to make sure I was still physically present.

I was diverted by a glimpse, out of the corner of my eye, of a lion waving to me from the bough of a close by tree. And i went to say hello...

Nonetheless there are 3 different grades of Malawi gold as you get further into Southern Africa it often blends in with the South African “Durban Poison” which is by far the most common “high grade” sativa strain in Africa. The other two truly Malawian strains are grown less commercially in the foothills of Malawi. These strains are particularly potent and only a small hit required for a very long “mental high”. Goat herders and some local villagers make a bit of extra cash cultivating small dispersed plantations higher in the hills.
